As your BBQube operates, the fire bricks inside the firebox are subjected to heating and cooling, which can lead to minor cracks over time. While hairline cracks are normal and do not affect performance, there are certain criteria to consider when deciding if replacement is necessary.

When to Replace Fire Bricks:

• Cracks greater than 3 mm wide.
• Cracks deeper than 6 mm.
• Surface erosion exceeding 25% of the original thickness.
• Fire bricks crumbling or breaking apart.

Prevention: To prevent issues, it’s recommended to “condition” new fire bricks by starting with small fires and gradually increasing size. Avoid throwing logs directly into the firebox to prevent damage.
